- Register online – students need to create an account.
- Fill in the application – they’ll need their passport, bank details and National Insurance number.
- Provide evidence – they’ll need to upload any evidence we ask for. If they do not, it could delay their application. Students should also ask their parents, carers or partners to give us any income details we need as soon as possible.
Students do not need a confirmed place at university or college before they apply. They can apply using their preferred choice and change their details later if they need to. The deadline for new students to apply is 21 May. Students are encouraged to apply before then to make sure they get their student finance in time for starting their course. Initial volumes to the application system may be high, and our services may be very busy for a while. Please bear this in mind when applying.
Continuing students can also now reapply by signing into their online account. They should complete their application by 25 June to ensure their funding is in place before their course starts.
