Our entry criteria for NMAPS is as follows:
You will normally need a first or second class UK Bachelor’s degree or an overseas qualifications of an equivalent standard. Overseas qualifications will need to be verified through ENIC, who will issue a Statement of Comparability.
A degree in the subject you want to teach, or a closely related subject is preferable. If your degree is in another subject, you will need a solid A level (or overseas equivalency verified by ENIC) in the subject you wish to teach and may be required to undertake some subject specific training where current subject knowledge is not well-developed.
GCSE at Grade C/Level 4 in both English Language and Mathematics or equivalent qualification.
Applicants for this course who are not British or Irish citizens must have the right to study in England. This may include (but is not limited to) Indefinite Leave to Remain, Settled Status or Pre-Settled status. As a SCITT we cannot support candidates who need a student visa sponsor.
DBS Clearance and Occupational Health Check
NMAPS entry criteria require you to complete a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and a confidential occupational health check.
English and Mathematics Fundamental Skills
You will have good written and spoken English and fundamental Mathematics skills.
