Our entry criteria for NMAPS is as follows:
You will need a first or second class UK Bachelor’s degree or an overseas qualifications of an equivalent standard. Overseas qualifications will be verified through NARIC.
A first degree comprises 300 HE credits of which 60 must be at the level of the QCF.
A degree in the subject you want to teach, or a closely related subject is preferable. If your degree is in another subject, you will need a solid A level in the subject you wish to teach. In this case you will be required to take a DfE funded Subject Knowledge Enhancement Course. The length of SKE depends on the individual: from an eight-week ‘refresher’ to a full 28-week course. GCSE at Grade C/Level 4 in both English Language and Mathematics or the equivalent overseas qualification.
Applicants for this course, who are not British citizens, must have Indefinite Leave to Remain.
DBS Clearance and Occupational Health Check
NMAPS entry criteria require you to complete a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and an online health check.
English Language proficiency requirements
You will have excellent written and spoken English.
